$130

Option 2

Option 3

We understand that smaller groups, like couples or solo riders, want to enjoy our trails too. While our standard minimum is 3 riders at $130 per person (totaling $390), we're happy to accommodate groups of 1 or 2 by charging the equivalent of the 3-rider minimum for Option 1 and commensurate charges for Options 2 and 3. This helps cover our operational costs as a small business while ensuring you have a fantastic experience.

Limitations and Requirements

Unfortunately, as with everything, these must exist. My #1 priority is that everyone (including the horses and me) returns from the ride happy and healthy.

Group Size: Minimum of 3 riders, maximum of 5.

Age: 7 yrs and older.

Rider Weight Limit: 220 lbs.*

Rider Disposition: Calm, mature, responsible, safety-conscious, positive and kind.**

Helmets: We provide.  Required for all riders under the age of 18.

Riding Boots or Sturdy Footwear: Strongly encouraged. I have a small selection of cowboy boots if you don’t have them.

Long pants: Also strongly encouraged for your comfort and safety. We ride through the forest.

Liability Release: You knew this was coming, right?! Absolutely required that all riders sign. Parents must sign for minors.

*Our rider weight limit is generally 220 lbs, but it’s flexible based on your weight-to-strength ratio and riding experience. I’ll assess each rider to ensure a safe, comfortable match with our horses.

**Rider disposition doesn’t just affect you – it affects the horses and everyone else on the ride. That being said, initial apprehension about riding horses is very normal – everyone goes through it at first. Most of our riders have little to no riding experience. If you’re willing to listen and learn, we’ll get you over it and out in forest!

Reservations and Payments

Because of the customized, tailored nature of the horseback rides, reservations by phone are required beforehand.  Book your saddle today with Pat (605) 939-6464 or Emily (760) 270-6217.

For payments, we accept cash, Venmo, or check at the time of the ride.

Notes:

At this time, we do not require an up-front deposit. We trust that you will make every reasonable effort to meet your commitment (as will we) and show up for your ride.

At the time of the reservation, we will ask you for some information regarding group size, rider experience, ages, special concerns and preferences, etc. This is so we can best tailor the ride to your group.

The pleasant riding season weather in the Black Hills of South Dakota (and the Northern Plains in general) comes with rain and thunderstorms that can pop up quickly. If we forecast inclement weather prior to the ride, we will do our best to work with you to accommodate any changes. We want to respect your trip itinerary/schedule while keeping safety at the forefront.

I mentioned working for Corporate America – I’m still there! Therefore, available riding times during weekdays will typically be after 5PM and if a business trip comes up unexpectedly, I’ll contact you to arrange an alternate time. Available riding times on weekends are generally more extensive.
